Washington, DC —
Authorities in the nation’s capital have stated that the Internal Affairs Bureau of the agency is currently investigating the shooting incident involving two United States Marshals that occurred early Friday morning.
They were parked in two automobiles in the 2100 block of 11th Street, Northwest, at 1:15 a.m. According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), that’s when Kentrell Flowers, an 18-year-old from Southeast, stepped out of the vehicle and went up to one of the Marshals.
The Arlington County police have confirmed that a Metro Transit police officer shot and killed a suspect in a carjacking.
Flower allegedly attempted to carjack one of the Marshals by drawing a pistol and pointing it at them, according to the police.
Marshal McPherson drew his weapon and opened fire on Flowers many times. As a second U.S. Marshal from the second vehicle reacted, he too opened fire.

Flowers were transported to the hospital for the treatment of injuries that did not pose a life-threatening risk.
American Marshals were reportedly unharmed in the encounter, according to the police.
According to the charges against Flowers, the following:
- The Instance of Armed Carjacking
- The Unauthorized Possession of a Handgun
- Reckless Use of a High-Capacity Munitions Feeder
The firearm depicted in the image below was officially retrieved from the location, according to the police.
Law enforcement is looking into the shooting, and the US Attorney’s Office will look into it separately, too.
Members of the MPD’s Criminal Investigations Division are still looking into the carjacking.
