A 26-year-old male was apprehended by a SWAT team after an Air Force veteran was allegedly shot and killed in the lobby of her downtown apartment building, according to the Houston Police Department.
To the death of 34-year-old Vanity Williams at 1711 Caroline St. a week ago Friday, police charged Tristian Sanders with murder.

In Luling, Louisiana, Sanders was reportedly apprehended by the HPD. His current whereabouts are unknown as he awaits extradition from the St. Charles Parish Jail.
The Louisiana sheriff’s office reported that just after noon on Friday, officers of the state police helped the HPD with the arrest. No problems arose during Sanders’ arrest by a SWAT unit.

Neither department provided any further information regarding Sanders’s relationship with Williams or how they are related. But according to ABC13, Williams’ pals knew each other.
After learning that Sanders fled to greater New Orleans and stayed at multiple locations, investigators identified him as the culprit, according to the police.
Thursday, Eyewitness News met with friends of the victim, Williams, who was perplexed as to why their loved one had become a victim of violence.
“She created and made a safe space for everybody, so to think that someone would want to hurt her and have a justified reason is something I cannot fathom,” Williams’ friend Hope Giselle said.
