Rooftop Party Turned Violent after Shots Rang Up in The Crowd in Wisconsin; 10 Injured as per Authorities

Ten people were hurt in a shooting early Sunday morning at a party on a rooftop in Wisconsin, police said.

At the party in downtown Madison, nine people were hurt by shooting and one by broken glass. The party was held in a high-rise apartment building.

Everyone who was hurt was taken to a nearby hospital. According to the police, none of the injuries were life-threatening. In a report released Sunday afternoon, Madison police said that at least one of the hurt people was still in the hospital.

The authorities reported that the victims were in the age range of 14 and 23 years old as per The Associated Press.

At a news conference, Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes said, “It is truly a miracle that no one is dead. As a community, our hearts are hurting.”

Around 12:45 a.m., the police were called to the apartment building.

Barnes said, “These students should have been celebrating summer vacation and not receiving medical treatment.”

The shooting happened near the campus of the University of Wisconsin–Madison. However, no students were known to be hurt or involved, according to officials from the university.

On Sunday, no one was being held in connection with the shooting.
