The Kansas City Chiefs return to training camp practices on Sunday after a day off in St. Joseph, Missouri. As the Chiefs open Sunday’s non-padded practice, they have both good and bad news about injuries, as many players have been dealing with them throughout camp.
Nick Jacobs of KSHB41 filmed offensive lineman Wanya Morris on Sunday returning to practice with his helmet, following his early departure from Friday’s session owing to a shoulder ailment.
In Friday’s practice before his injury, Morris had been tested at left guard, putting his versatility to the test, while rookie Kingsley Suamataia received reps at left tackle from the first team.
Note that some players may be able to return to Sunday’s non-padded practice at “full” capacity without being physically prepared for full contact, as is the case with all of the team’s injuries that could be worsened by contact.
According to Charles Goldman, cornerback Jaylen Watson was not required to wear his yellow non-contact jersey during Friday’s practice because there was no padding.
