Illegal Gender Affirming Treatment Exposed by Doctor in Texas; DOJ Filed Charges against Doctor Instead of Hospital

A whistleblower faces criminal charges from the Department of Justice for exposing a Texas hospital’s claimed secret provision of gender-affirming care to minors.

A surgeon, Dr. Eithan Haim, who completed his residency at the Texas Children’s Hospital, is facing serious allegations of HIPAA violations. He has recently been indicted on four felony charges. Haim has expressed determination to challenge the charges and raised concerns about the integrity of the DOJ.

“They tried to silence me using every method available to the government.” However, their efforts were unsuccessful,” Haim wrote in a post on Thursday on X. “Defeating corruption requires resilience and determination.” We must take a stronger stance and fight back with all our might!

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Haim’s attorney, Marcella Burke, expressed her client’s eagerness to proceed to trial and present his perspective. I am certain that the right decision will be reached.

In May 2023, Haim shared confidential documents with journalist Christopher Rufo, revealing that the Texas Children’s Hospital had been operating its child gender clinic in violation of state law, despite their previous claims of shutting it down.

Rufo has emphasized that the documents he received from Haim did not contain any personal information about the clinic’s patients.

Earlier this week, U.S. marshals paid a visit to Haim’s residence to deliver a summons and inform him of his court appearance regarding the indictments.

In February 2022, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton issued an opinion suggesting that gender-affirming care for children might potentially be considered as a form of child abuse according to state law. In a recent announcement, Texas Children’s Hospital declared that it will no longer provide treatments or surgeries for children in relation to transgenderism.

In an article published in the City Journal, Haim reported on a medical procedure involving the implantation of a hormone device in an 11-year-old girl who was dealing with gender dysphoria. The procedure took place three days after the announcement.

Haim noted an increase in the frequency of these procedures over the next year.

After the story by Rufo on May 14, 2023, which featured Haim’s personal experience, the Texas legislature enacted a law prohibiting medical interventions for transgender minors.

In June, Haim received a visit from two federal agents who informed him that he was under investigation for potential violations of federal criminal law as per FOX News.

Haim’s court appearance is scheduled for June 10, during which he and his legal team will receive further details regarding the allegations concerning medical records.
