An adult murder charge has been filed against a 16-year-old who was detained following a fatal shooting in Florida City last month.
Records revealed that Kedrick McKnight is facing adult charges related to the shooting incident on June 11 that claimed a man’s life.
Following a ShotSpotter alarm, Florida City Police were called to the 1200 block of Northwest 7th Avenue, where they discovered three individuals inside a black Nissan Sentra, per the arrest report.
One of the victims, a guy, was found to be brain dead after being transported to Jackson South Hospital with gunshot wounds.
According to the report, a witness stated that she was in her house when she heard several gunshots and that McKnight was firing at her car from her driveway while brandishing what she believed to be a “Draco,” a rifle-style weapon.
According to the report, the woman claimed that while McKnight, also known as “Keddie,” opened fire, her kids were inside her car.
