by New York City, NY – A violent Sunday night unfolded across the city as six people were shot, including one fatality, in three separate shootings spanning the Bronx and Queens, according to the New York Police Department (NYPD). Authorities said the shootings occurred within just a few hours, marking yet another night of gun violence in the five boroughs.
Triple Shooting in the Bronx Leaves Three Injured
The night of violence began around 9 p.m. when police responded to a 911 call at a residential building located between East 142nd Street and East 143rd Street on Brook Avenue in Mott Haven, the Bronx.
Inside, officers found three males, including a 16-year-old boy, suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to NYPD officials, the teen and a 20-year-old man were both shot in the back, while a 29-year-old man was shot in the leg.
All three victims were rushed to Lincoln Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition, police confirmed. Investigators believe the shooting may have stemmed from an altercation inside the building, though the motive remains under investigation.
No arrests have been made, and detectives from the 40th Precinct continue to canvass the area for surveillance footage and witnesses.
Double Shooting in Queens
Roughly 20 minutes earlier, police in Whitestone, Queens, were called to a home on 16th Road between 147th and 149th Streets following reports of multiple people shot.
When officers arrived, they discovered a 39-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his left arm and a 49-year-old woman with injuries to her right arm and torso.
“Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition,” police said in a statement.
A firearm was recovered at the scene, and investigators are working to determine whether the shooting was domestic in nature or related to another ongoing dispute. The NYPD’s 109th Precinct detectives are leading the investigation.
One Man Killed in Bronx Shooting
Earlier that evening, around 5:45 p.m., officers responded to another 911 call in Crotona, where a man had been shot inside a building between East 180th Street and East 181st Street on Southern Boulevard.
Authorities found a 25-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head.
“He was pronounced dead at the scene,” officials said, adding that the shooter remains at large.
Police have not yet released the victim’s name, pending notification of his family. The NYPD’s homicide detectives are investigating and searching for potential witnesses who may have seen the gunman flee the scene.

Investigations Continue Amid Rising Gun Violence
No suspects have been identified in any of the three incidents as of Monday morning. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and conducting forensic analysis of recovered evidence.
The string of shootings comes as New York City continues to grapple with sporadic outbreaks of gun violence, despite overall crime rates showing a downward trend compared to previous years.
