MJP –
Avelo Airlines has officially opened its sixth base at Central Florida’s Lakeland International Airport (LAL), marking the resumption of passenger service at the airport for the first time in over a decade.
The inaugural flight took off earlier this year, and Avelo is now launching the first two of four new routes.
Starting today, travelers can fly to Concord-Padgett Regional Airport twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays, with Manchester-Boston Regional Airport and Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport launching service on October 25, operating twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays. Additionally, flights to San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport will commence on October 26, with service offered twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO, Andrew Levy, emphasized the convenience that Lakeland offers for Floridians, stating, “Our new base at Lakeland provides easy access to air travel, especially for customers who value the convenience of a small airport.”
Levy highlighted that the airport complements Avelo’s operations at Orlando International Airport (MCO) and enhances affordable travel options across Florida.
