Bloodbath Threat California Man Accused of Planning to Attack Massachusetts Companies

A man from California is currently facing federal charges following a string of aggressive voicemails in which he allegedly threatened to “shoot up” businesses in Massachusetts using an AK-47.

Federal authorities in San Francisco have accused 34-year-old Daniel Nguyen with communicating a threat in interstate commerce after his detention on Thursday, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for Massachusetts.

The criminal filings state that between January and February of 2024, Nguyen called five different Massachusetts-based businesses and left voicemails in which he threatened workplace shootings.

Nguyen supposedly threatened the workers’ deaths and predicted a “going to be a [expletive] bloodbath” in the voicemails.

According to the charging documents, Nguyen allegedly threatened people in Nevada and California based on their race, saying things like, “I will… shoot all you [expletive] [expletive]s dead and burn al[l] you [expletive] piece of [expletive] [expletive]s in the dump and ditches where you [expletive]s belong…”The only acceptable [expletive] is a shot-and-killed [expletive].

A fine of up to $250,000, three years of supervised release, and a maximum jail sentence of five years are all possible outcomes of a conviction for communicating a threat in interstate commerce.

At a later time, Nguyen will appear before a judge in Boston.
