DC, Washington –
This past Tuesday afternoon, on Southern Avenue, there was a terrible accident that left two people dead. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
During a high-speed chase between the US Park Police and the Anne Arundel County Police, a silver BMW automobile, which was involved in several crimes, lost control.
On its way south in the 4100 block, the vehicle suddenly swerved to the right, crossed over the pavement, and slammed into a tree, causing it to break in half.

After the horrific incident, 19-year-old Demetri Koger of Southeast was taken into custody. He was charged with fugitive from justice and was hospitalized for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Firefighters and emergency medical services from the District of Columbia removed two more people from the wreckage; both were declared dead upon arrival.
Southeast resident Dashawn Harris, 17, was one of the victims. Continued efforts are being made to identify the second victim.
An armed robbery was allegedly associated with the BMW that was engaged in the incident, which garnered notice on Wednesday.
The event is currently under investigation. It is being strongly requested that anyone with information regarding this tragic incident either call or text the police.
