An Indianapolis Man Was Killed In A Mass Shooting In Louisville, and His Family, mourns and Waiting for Answers

LOUISVILLE, KY —

Following the news that 40-year-old Joseph Bowers was the victim of a mass shooting outside a Louisville, Kentucky nightclub, a family in Indianapolis is in mourning. Eight people were shot early on Saturday morning at the H2O Lounge.

To start dealing with Joseph Bowers’ death, the family got together on Sunday, June 23 at their west side residence. Of his eight siblings, he was one.

At approximately 12:45 a.m., Bowers’ family believes he was standing in line with pals to enter a show at the H2O Lounge when gunfire broke out outside the establishment. Bowers was found with gunshot wounds, according to Louisville Police. He was given medical attention by officers until paramedics could get to the site, but he was declared dead.

Bowers Family is credited.

A woman with potentially fatal gunshot wounds was brought to the hospital. Police were informed that six additional individuals with gunshot wounds from the event appeared at hospitals in the Louisville region.

Friday night, the H2O Lounge opened for a multi-act music event at 10 p.m. According to Louisville Metro Alcoholic Beverage Control, the nightclub owner temporarily closed the establishment out of concern for public safety, and the shooting is currently being investigated.

According to Chris 2X, executive director of 2X Game Changers, “it takes on another level of grief that is indescribable for that particular family who isn’t necessarily from Louisville.”

According to Bowers’ family, he ran an Indianapolis towing business.

Police in Louisville have not made any arrests and have not ascertained a reason for the shooting.

Craig Greenberg, the mayor of Louisville, sent the following message on social media:

“Last night’s mass shooting makes it painfully clear that we must do more to stop the gun violence that is plaguing our city.”

Police in Louisville surmise that a large number of people saw the shooting outside the H2O Lounge. To learn who shot and murdered Bowers, they are hoping that those witnesses will come forward.
