A woman gave birth in the parking lot of the Green Oak Township Costco store over the weekend.
According to the Green Oak Township Fire Department, a couple were enroute to the hospital Saturday when they realized the baby was coming, so they pulled over in the parking lot of the Costco Wholesale store at Lee Road and contacted Livingston County EMS.
Emergency responders arrived to assist with the delivery, which was successful and without complications. The mother and baby were then taken to the hospital by ambulance.
“This is an unusual situation, but we’re just glad mom and baby were doing well and we got them to the hospital,” Green Oak Fire Deputy Chief Tracy Chamberlain told MLive.
