Overnight closures begin Friday night on US-23 in Washtenaw County so that works crews can demolish a bridge and rebuild a ramp.
Starting at 10 p.m. US-23 will close overnight in both directions at Willis Road for three consecutive days, with vehicles rerouted via the Willis Road entrance and exit ramps from 10 p.m. Friday, to 6 a.m. Saturday, then 9 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday,, and finally, 9 from p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
Meanwhile, Willis Road and its ramp to northbound US-23, will also be closed at 9 a.m. Friday through mid-June as the bridge construction takes place. Traffic will be detoured via Carpenter Road, U.S. 12 (Michigan Avenue) and Platt Road.
The project is slated to be complete by 5 p.m. Sunday, June 18, MDOT officials said.
All of the work is weather dependent and may be delayed by current conditions.
