A Williamston man has been bound over on charges of torture and domestic violence against his now deceased wife.
Elise Palazzolo was found dead in her home on May 7, 2021. The Livingston Daily reports that her husband, 41-year-old Christopher Palazzolo, told Williamston Police that she tried to overdose by taking pills the night before. While a medical examiner could not determine a cause of death, it was recorded as “suspicious” due to the discovery of unusual bruising.
Police also found evidence suggesting her husband abused and tortured her prior to her death, including notes she wrote describing incidents of rape, choking and beating and that when she tried to leave him, he threatened to kill her. He also reportedly warned her that she would never see their son again.
Palazzolo, who police say has a history of mental illness, was bound over to Ingham County Circuit Court following a hearing last week in 55th District Court in Mason.
