Alcohol and drug use appear to be factors in a crash early Monday that killed a man in Lyon Township.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office says first responders were called at 4:45 a.m. to the scene of the crash off Pontiac Trail, west of Martindale.
35-year-old Seth Lowry of Whitmore Lake was reportedly driving a 2022 Kia Niro westbound on Pontiac Trail near Willow Lane when he drifted off the roadway and struck a tree. Lowry, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit say alcohol and drugs appear to be factors in the crash.
