Throughout the weekend, it is anticipated that a moderately powerful atmospheric river will sweep into Portland, bringing with it the possibility of significant rains brought on by late spring in the Pacific Northwest.
According to the forecast of Josh Cozart, a meteorologist at KOIN 6, the impending atmospheric river will take direct aim at the Oregon Coast. This will result in cooler temperatures and days of rain in the western regions of Oregon and Washington.
According to what Cozart said, “June will most likely begin with some precipitation events.” Over the Pacific Ocean, this weekend will see the beginning of the formation of a modest atmospheric river that is late in the season. As a result of the stream of rainfall that is anticipated to pass across the Pacific Northwest, the region will experience drenching showers and temperatures that are lower.
The forecast calls for rain showers to arrive in Portland on Sunday and continue into the early part of the following week. On Friday, it is anticipated that the daytime temperatures will reach the upper 70s, and then on Sunday, they are forecast to drop back down to the middle 60s. Temperatures are not anticipated to fall below fifty degrees during the overnight hours.
