Video: NYC Burglars Smash Pharmacy Glass Door, Steal Nothing in Botched Heist

A recently released surveillance video shows two clumsy burglars attempting to rob a Queens pharmacy but leaving empty-handed.

According to the NYPD, the incident occurred around 6 a.m. on Dec. 15 at a drug store on 108th Street near 45th Avenue in Corona.

The suspects first broke the roll-down gate before one of them used a crowbar to smash through the glass door. However, after entering the store, they fled without taking anything.

This failed burglary is one of eight similar incidents that police believe are connected. Over two weeks, the group — sometimes joined by a third accomplice — targeted multiple pharmacies, stealing more than $3,000 in cash, lottery tickets, and narcotics.

The spree began on Dec. 6, when one suspect broke into a drug store on Main Street in Kew Gardens. Joined by two other thieves, they stole about $200 in cash and $35 worth of lottery tickets.

Shortly after, the trio broke into another pharmacy in Fresh Meadows, where they took $100 from the register.

Not all attempts were successful. On Dec. 12, one burglar tried to break into a Woodside pharmacy but was left empty-handed after failing to breach the roll-down gate.

The same morning, the group tried to enter another store in Astoria by throwing a cinderblock at a window but couldn’t get inside.

Their most recent heist took place on Dec. 20 in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn. The burglars broke through the locks and used a crowbar to smash a window, making off with $2,400 and various narcotics. In several of these incidents, they used a gray Infiniti sedan to escape.
