A shocking Florida company has just filed a WARN notification with the state’s Department of Economic Opportunity, announcing closures and layoffs.
To make sure that individuals impacted by layoffs of 50 or more employees can get state and municipal aid, businesses are required to submit prior notice under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act.
Adding to the list of Florida companies warning of impending layoffs is New York Sports Club.
Informing the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity of three closures, New York Sports Club has filed a WARN warning.
Consequently, 108 workers will lose their jobs.
Here are the locations of the affected gyms, which were previously called Around the Clock Fitness:
These locations are in Fort Myers: 9375 Six Mile Cypress Parkway, 1755 Boy Scout Drive, and 1140 Ceitus Terrace in Cape Coral.
August 31 will be the last day of operations for these locations before the closures take effect.
Regrettably, this decision will result in the fitness chain losing all of its sites in Florida.
