I doubt many would correctly name the fastest-growing place in Missouri if I offered you ten guesses; I was surprised, too. I was incorrect in assuming Kansas City or a neighboring area.
This data was published on the Missouri subreddit, and I thought it was fascinating. Compared to the previous four years, this is the biggest increase in Missouri’s population.
Who would have thought that Columbia would see the most increase since 2020? Not me.
O’Fallon is all the rage right now, and I knew Lee’s Summit and the Wentzville area were on the rise, but I had no clue Columbia had the biggest population boom. I was surprised to see Kansas City ranked so low.

Even though I am aware that living expenses are on the rise in that region of Missouri, I was hoping to see a larger influx of individuals relocating there.
Someone mentioned that if the suburbs were included, Kansas City (the area, not the city) would have ranked higher. It’s probably accurate. Presently, the center of Missouri is the hub of activity, and it’s not limited to students at Mizzou.
