Northbound U.S. 23 was shutdown for several hours Wednesday afternoon in Green Oak Township following a crash involving a semitruck and a van.
According to Green Oak Township Fire Chief Kevin Gentry, both the police and fire departments responded to a motor vehicle crash on northbound US-23, north of Silver Lake Rd. just before 2 p.m.
Upon arrival, the semi was stopped in the northbound lanes of travel with front end damage and the van was in the median rolled on its side. Multiple other vehicles were on location that were not involved. The semi was hauling nonhazardous materials and the trailer was not involved in the crash. No injuries were reported.
Northbound US 23 was shut down for two hours for the vehicles to be removed and debris to be cleaned up. Green Oak Charter Township Police and Fire units were assisted by Livingston County Sheriffs Department and the Michigan State Police. Livingston County EMS also responded.
The Expressway was reopened at 3:45pm.
