A house fire in Lincoln Park has destroyed a home on Randolph Street, leaving a family of five and their two dogs without a place to live.
Thankfully, everyone managed to get out of the house safely. The fire caused a lot of damage, with most windows broken and severe damage to the side of the house near the carport.
Firefighters from nearby towns, including Lincoln Park, Boonton, and Wayne, quickly arrived at the scene, along with police and emergency medical services.
The fire chief from Lincoln Park mentioned that the fire was tough to control, especially since the back and side of the house were already fully on fire when the firefighters arrived.
The call came in at 9 a.m., and the firefighters managed to control the fire in about an hour. They stayed longer to make sure any remaining hot spots were fully extinguished before leaving just before noon.
A neighbor, Dan Girlando, shared his experience of the fire. He described the scene as chaotic, with large flames consuming the house and embers flying onto nearby roofs.
He found embers on his roof and had to use a garden hose to put them out. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
