Rolling paint crews will be working on Interstate 575 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 16, the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office announced.
The crews will be working on both northbound and southbound lanes of the interstate, covering areas near Towne Lake Parkway and other sections.
Temporary lane closures may occur as needed, which could result in slower traffic throughout the day.
“Traffic will likely be impacted all day in different locations from Woodstock to Canton,” the sheriff’s office shared in their announcement. Drivers are advised to plan and allow extra travel time to avoid delays.
The sheriff’s office also explained that the crews are unable to work at night due to low temperatures, which could affect the paint application process.
The daytime schedule allows for better precision and ensures the safety of the workers and motorists.
Commuters are encouraged to use alternate routes if possible and stay alert for signs and cones in the work zones to ensure everyone’s safety.
