Authorities are investigating the shooting deaths of two teens in White Lake Township over the weekend.
A pair of suspects are under arrest in connection with the deaths a 16-year-old male and a 19-year-old male. Their bodies were discovered by responding officers at about 9 a.m. Saturday after they were dispatched to the Cedarbrook Estates mobile home community near Highland and Bogie Lake roads on a report of an unresponsive person near a pond.
The victims, identified by police as Highland Township residents, were found lying near the pond with gunshot wounds. The Detroit News reports the victims were 19-year-old Cameron Duckworth and 16-year-old Drake Mancuso, best friends who both attended Milford High School.
According to a GoFundMe page set up to help with Duckworth’s funeral expenses, “Cameron went to hangout with one of his friends as a normal teenager. Cameron and his friend were targeted by fellow peers and murdered. Cameron was an innocent victim who was just going to hangout on a normal Friday night.”
Both suspects are lodged in the Oakland County Jail. Authorities say further information on them is pending the issuance of charges.
