Suspect arrested in Hartland Township prostitution raid is MDOC investigator

The suspect charged in a suspected prostitution operation last week in Hartland Township is an investigator with the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC).

44-year-old Scott Matthew Fink of Milford was arrested by the Michigan State Police Special Investigation Section after they executed a search warrant May 19th at the Best Western in Hartland Township, located at US-23 and M-59.

Fink is a former police detective with the Highland Park Police Department who was employed at the time as a special investigator with the MDOC’s Internal Affairs Division. Also arrested was a 35-year-old East Lansing woman, who was released pending further investigation.

Chris Gautz, spokesperson for the MDOC, says that Fink was placed on unpaid suspension following the arrest.

Fink is charged with transporting a person for prostitution, accepting earnings from prostitution, and aiding and abetting. His bond was set at $10,000 with a 10% cash alternative.

He is next due in court on May 30th for a probable cause conference in front of 53rd District Court Judge Shauna Murphy.
