The annual Livingston County “Shop with a Cop’ program took place Saturday as officers from area departments helped area kids prepare for the holiday season.
This year, Cleary University helped to support the event as approximately 125 children were identified through the legal, court, or child welfare systems as those who might not receive presents for Christmas or who may need some positive reinforcement in their life. Each child was paired with a local police officer and then in a parade of police squad cars with lights and sirens, were taken to Walmart in Howell to go shopping.
After their shopping excursion, the kids and officers attended a special breakfast held at Cleary University.
