Authorities said that a Florida-based McDonald’s employee was taken into custody last week after shooting at patrons during a fight at the drive-through window.

As a result of the Friday incident, Chassidy Gardner, 22, of Lakeland, is accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

At around one in the morning, Lakeland police responded to a complaint of gunfire at the fast-food establishment. An altercation between Gardner and a client who was dissatisfied with their order at the drive-through window led to the shooting.

Gardner hurled a drink at the patrons as they tried to leave during the altercation, according to the police. A patron once forced their arm through the window, knocking several objects to the ground.

“Two of the customers got out of their vehicle and opened the drive-through window to throw drinks at Gardner who then armed herself with a handgun,” according to a police report.

According to officials, Gardner went outside with her gun to continue their argument after the customers had driven around the building. The car was supposedly pulling out of the parking lot when she started the fire.

At least one hit was made to the automobile. There were no reported injuries. A message has been sent to McDonald’s by Fox News Digital.
