Shocking: Pennsylvania Mom Handcuffs 11-Year-Old Son to Fuel Tank While at Work!

A Pennsylvania woman is in jail for allegedly handcuffing her 11-year-old son to a fuel tank in the basement of their house.

The mother, Chazzity Candelario, is charged with unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, and endangering the welfare of a child.

The case was revealed on January 11 when police in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, were called to a home on East Kercher Avenue.

They received information that a child had been “chained” to a bed. When police arrived, they met the boy’s siblings, who said their brother was handcuffed to the railing of his bunk bed.

The 11-year-old boy told police that his mother had earlier handcuffed his leg to an oil tank in the basement.

After managing to free himself, he accidentally locked himself to his bed. The police questioned Candelario, who admitted to her actions.

She said she struggles to control her children while she works and sometimes locks her son in a small utility room. There, she handcuffed him to the fuel tank, she confessed.

The boy revealed that this mistreatment happened regularly and that he was often restrained for up to two hours.

Candelario, aged 33, was arrested and is now in the Lebanon County Correctional Facility. She is being held on a $100,000 bond. Her preliminary hearing is set for January 23.

If found guilty, Candelario could face up to 10 years in prison for unlawful restraint, 10 years for false imprisonment, and an additional 5–10 years for endangering a child.

Reports have also revealed that Candelario had legal troubles earlier. Last summer, on July 21, 2024, she was charged with two counts of driving under the influence in Denver, Pennsylvania. Her blood alcohol level at the time was 0.135, which is nearly double the legal limit.

The community has shown strong reactions to the incident. One person on Facebook commented, “This is so wrong.

The mother needs to go to jail.” Another user shared their perspective: “Parenting is tough these days. It’s hard to punish kids without getting into trouble. I pray for understanding and light in this situation.”
