Shocking News Layoffs Hit Nebraska from an Unexpected Company

Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) documents indicate that an unanticipated Nebraskan business has begun laying off employees.

Wellpath has declared that 64 of its Omaha employees would be let go. The notice was sent to workers in an internal business letter.

This is to inform you in writing that Wellpath Healthcare will be completely shutting down its activities at the address below as a result of a change in the contract.

A permanent separation is projected to occur between August 31, 2024, and September 14, 2024, affecting all Wellpath personnel allocated to this location.

Due to the unanticipated business condition exception, Wellpath may not be able to give affected employees the full 60 days’ notice, as the company was just informed of the contract change.

Dismissal of affected personnel is anticipated to commence between August 31, 2024, and September 14, 2024.

What this means is that impacted employees cannot use their “bumping rights” to force less senior workers out of their jobs because of the separation.

Affected individuals include all Wellpath workers at the Nebraska location, as stated in the letter.

Among the other Nebraska companies that have cut staff this year are the following:

There will be 100 layoffs at Global Industries, Inc. on 6/4, and 165 at Bimbo Bakeries USA, Inc. on 5/10.
Enterprises by Garner. 63 layoffs as of May 6th; and 243 layoffs as of March 22nd at Student Transportation of America (STA), Inc.

Cardinal Health System. Five positions were eliminated on January 9th.
