On Monday morning, police confirmed to KCTV5 that a man’s body had been discovered in the parking lot of a church.
According to the Kansas City Police Department, when police arrived at the 9900 block of East Bannister Road at approximately 9:30 a.m., they found a man’s body in the Dayspring Pentecostal Church parking lot.
The victim, who was believed to be an adolescent, was shot to death, according to the police department, which said it was looking into the event as a homicide.

To locate potential witnesses and any security footage of the crime, detectives are scouring the area.
