A homeless guy was shot and killed by an Idaho man who took him to an IHOP for breakfast. The man received a life sentence.

Ada County Deputy Prosecutor Katelyn Farley stated that Justin Friesner and his best buddy Cameron Russell were gathered at a Boise bus stop when they were both homeless when Dallas Brower, an unknown individual, approached them and offered assistance.

According to the Idaho Statesman, Friesner passed only a few hours after that, and his remains were discovered close to Boise Airport.

At that point, Cameron and Justin had been homeless for a few months. The prosecutor stated in court that they were cold and hungry when they received what they believed to be a generous gesture.

Brower, who was 27 years old at the time, allegedly provided the men marijuana in his car after taking them out to dinner. She insisted the men passed out after smoking the joint because it was spiked with fentanyl.

In 2023, a man treated Justin Friesner to breakfast at IHOP before killing him.

According to Farley, Justin Friesner’s best friend was stabbed by the defendant in the back seat of the defendant’s vehicle after Cameron’s memory went black after taking a few hits in 2023. The incident took place at IHOP (Flahiff Funeral Chapels & Crematory – Caldwell).

Despite surviving the attack, Farley claims that Russell was deeply affected by the experience. The “devilish smile” and baby-blue latex gloves that Brower donned while stabbing his 24-year-old pal are still vivid in his mind.

“Justin was the most generous soul I’ve ever met,” Russell remarked. “It was awful for me. Nights were a struggle for me. My best friend died needlessly in front of my eyes. I find it terrible because he doesn’t feel any regret or anything.

Both guys were found unconscious when the police arrived. Brower, who was described as “very calm” and “covered in blood,” was found on the phone.

Contrary to what Brower told the police, the men did not attempt to carjack him. A note expressing his wish to kill was discovered with a buried knife, according to the police.

The Ada County coroner’s report stated that Friesner’s cause of death was “sharp force injuries of the neck and chest,” and it further stated that he had been stabbed sixteen times.

The defense team representing Brower claimed their client had suffered from hallucinations for a long time and had been increasingly aggressive around four years ago as a result of his heavy methamphetamine usage.

According to his defense, Brower started to think that Friesner and Russell should die while he was sitting with the men at IHOP.

“They’re eating when he starts having these hallucinations with voices of thought that these are bad guys who had done bad things, and I need to do something about this,” public defender Jonathan Loschi said. It felt like I was in another world. He was completely out of his head.

After Justin Friesner’s death, Dallas Brower admitted guilt in May to first-degree murder.
According to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, Dallas Brower admitted guilt in May for the first-degree murder of Justin Friesner.

The murder of Friesner and the aggravated assault of Russell with a dangerous weapon were both charges to which Brower pled guilty in May.

Following statements from the victims’ relatives, Judge Derrick O’Neill on Thursday handed down the prison term, with a 25-year fixed term.

In court, the victim’s sister Deslie Friesner expressed her wishes to have been there to protect her brother in his last moments with tears in her eyes. In his dying moments, he must have fallen in a way that I cannot fathom. Everything we know about him is that he battled till the very end.

Reminding Brower, “You are not a man,” she responded. You are nothing more than a pathetic excuse. Justin kept going. And now you’ve arrived at the place where you truly belong.

Brower expressed his remorse to the families of the victims before going to prison.

I want everyone to know that I’m here today prepared to embrace whatever the repercussions may be, and I sincerely apologize to everyone my actions have harmed.

O’Neill informed Brower, “I really hope you have mental health issues,” as he handed down the sentence. “It breaks my heart to think that this was completely planned, intentional, and without remorse because your soul seems so empty.”
