Services announced for Lt. Steve Moor

Funeral services have been announced for a beloved local first-responder.

Lt. Steve Moor with the Howell Area Fire Authority passed away Wednesday after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Visitation for Moor will be held Friday, October 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. at Watkins Funeral Homes, MacDonald’s Chapel of Howell.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 15 at 11 a.m. at 2/42 Community Church in Brighton. Visitation at the church will take place from 10 a.m. until the start of the Service at 11 a.m.

A 1981 graduate of Brighton High School, Moor joined the Brighton Fire Department as a junior firefighter in 1977 and remained in the fire service for the rest of his life. After decades with the Brighton Fire Department, Moor joined the Howell Fire Authority, where he was promoted to Lieutenant in September.

Moor also worked in the funeral service, spending 38 years with Keehn Funeral Home in Brighton before joining Howell’s MacDonald’s Funeral Home in January 2021.

Moor is survived by his wife Nikki, children Erica, Erin, Elise, Erik and Heather, stepdaughter Faith and two grandchildren Wyatt and Colson.
