According to authorities, a 25-year-old man was fatally ejected from a motorbike during a police pursuit in San Diego early Saturday, while his female companion suffered catastrophic injuries and lost a leg in the incident.
A 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle was pulled over by officers at 6200 Imperial Ave. at approximately 12:45 a.m. for a traffic violation, as reported by the San Diego Police Department.
The male suspect was found to have a felony arrest warrant during the stop. The man was told of his arrest by the officers. According to the police, the male fled the area and was last seen going westbound on Imperial Avenue. Officers were unable to begin pursuing him.
Two parked vehicles were involved in the collision at 5200 Imperial Avenue as the motorbike was going quite fast. Both the rider and his companion were forced from the motorbike. The operator was declared dead upon arrival.

The traveler was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance after suffering a severe injury to her left leg. Her wounds were deemed to be quite dangerous.
The crash was not caused by alcohol, according to the police.
