A two-story home in Hartland Township sustained major damage from a fire Thursday.
Shortly after 1 p.m., units with the Hartland Deerfield Fire Authority arrived at the residence in the 1600 block of Maxfield Lake Road, west of the Hartland Glen Golf Course.
Firefighters were able to safely evacuate the both the residents and their dogs, although the pets were administered oxygen and then taken to the veterinarian.
A cause for the fire has yet to be released.
Also assisting were units from the Howell and Brighton fire departments as well as the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART).
