Authorities say that the suspect who was apprehended after a woman’s body was discovered in a suitcase on Long Island last week had date rape and other illicit drugs on him when he was apprehended.
According to ABC7, the decomposing body of Seikeya Jones, also 31, was found in a container near an apartment building in Huntington a few days ago; on Friday, Ronald Schroeder, 31, was apprehended at New York’s Penn Station.
Allegedly, while arrested on an outstanding warrant, Schroeder—who has been charged with concealing of a human corpse in the disturbing case—had the narcotics on him.

The victim’s body was discovered in the luggage of the suspect last Tuesday in a wooded area near Huntington Station. The arrest of the suspect followed complaints of a bad stench from nearby residents, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
There was a discovery of a pregnant woman with black ropes around her wrists as she lay in the fetal position.
According to the officials, a bungee rope was also discovered attached to the bag.
On the shores of a Minnesota lake were discovered human remains that are thought to be hundreds of years old.
According to authorities, surveillance footage from the Huntington Station building last showed Jones, who her family reported missing on August 16, making her way through the facility.
How long the object remained in the forest until the police found it is an ongoing mystery.

Additionally, the exact duration of Jones’s demise before the discovery of the horrific crime was not immediately apparent.
Last Tuesday, a bag was discovered at Huntington Station containing the decomposing body parts of Seikeya Jones, who was 31 years old.
The official cause of death has not been revealed by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office based on the autopsy results.
According to her relatives, the victim was dealing with homelessness and mental health concerns before she disappeared. She is survived by a 4-year-old kid.
“We were unable to assist her in managing her mental illness. Having said that, it is unacceptable for anyone to take my sister, place her in a suitcase, and treat her as insignificant,” Shasia Correnthi, her sister, told ABC7.

In the meantime, Schroeder has been arrested and is currently being held without bond in the Suffolk County jail.
According to his counsel, he informed the court that his client was too unwell to attend his arraignment in person on Saturday.
Thursday will mark the suspect’s return to court.
