The Livingston Diversity Council and Pride Alliance of Livingston plan to kick off June as Pride Month with an event in Brighton this weekend.
A Rainbow Reception will be held on Sunday, June 4 from 12-3 p.m. at The Amp at the Millpond in Brighton. There will be free live music by James Taylor Jr., free crafts and informational booths, as well as Pride Merch, with proceeds benefiting the Pride Alliance of Livingston, which describes itself as “(A)community-based organization promoting an all-inclusive community for our neighbors through LGBTQ+ education, collaboration, and advocacy for equality, in order to celebrate our similarities and embrace our individuality.”
Other events include a Pride Parade in Howell on Saturday, June 10th at Noon. Participants will gather on the lawn of the Historic Courthouse and then march through the downtown. The event includes live music along with crafts, games, merchandise and an information booth.
There will also be a Trivia Night from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, at Lu & Carl’s, 102 W. Main St. in Brighton.
And then finally, a Pride Prom is set for Friday, June 23rd from 7-10 p.m. at the Howell Opera House. That’s being organized by Queer Families of Livingston County.
