Two days of suspected murder in Jasper County, Missouri, and shooting and beating a lady in Kansas City, Missouri, led to the allegations against an unnamed homeless guy from Independence.
In Jasper County Circuit Court, Jose Cantarero-Benitez is being charged with second-degree murder, robbery, and abandonment of a corpse charge.
The Jackson County Circuit Court has also filed charges against him, including one case of car hijacking involving significant physical injury, two counts of armed criminal activity, and first-degree assault, as stated in court records.
Cantarero-Benitez and his brother Adid Aman Cantarero-Benitez allegedly started committing crimes on September 16 when they were unable to purchase methamphetamine in Oklahoma due to a lack of funds, according to a court filing.
Adin eventually confessed to intent to murder the victim and told investigators in Jasper County that he and Jose had planned the heist at a petrol station.

Court documents indicate that Adin sat in Jesse Gilmore’s red Chevrolet Cobalt while shooting 63-year-old Gilmore in the gas station parking lot.
Before disposing of Gilmore’s lifeless body in a ditch near Joplin, Missouri’s Interstate 44, the brothers pulled him from his vehicle.
On September 16, the detectives discovered the lifeless body of Gimore.
Independence police informed Jasper County officials on September 18 that they had located the victim’s vehicle, which had been utilized in a gun attack that had taken place in Independence.
Court records show that at 2201 S. Maywood Ave., Hill Park, Independence, police discovered a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest and left forearm shortly after 5 p.m. on September 17th.
Standing beside the gray Toyota Tacoma pickup truck’s driver’s side, she was sprawled out in the grass.
A home in Kansas City, Missouri, was visited by police investigators to investigate a prowler report around six hours afterward.
As they approached the house, they noticed Jose Cantarero-Benitez waiting in the shadows. The cops apprehended him before he could even get away.
An eyewitness said that she and Jose were in Hill Park in the stolen red Chevrolet Cobalt, drinking beer.
Additionally, she informed the police Upon the woman’s refusal to hand over her truck to Jose, who was holding a revolver, a court document claims that Jose opened fire in the park.
The truck would not start when he attempted to steal it.
A computer check also revealed that Jose Cantarero-Benitez was in the US unlawfully, according to the court filing. Benitez-Cantarero is now the subject of a detainer order issued by CDEO.
The Independence, Jackson County Court hearing for Jose Cantareo-Benitez is set for October 2.
