Plane makes emergency landing in Green Oak Twp.

A Wayne County pilot had to make an emergency landing in Livingston County.

Green Oak Township Police say they received a report Saturday of a plane having to make an emergency landing on US-23 between Silver Lake Road and Lee Road. A 75-year-old Plymouth man was reportedly flying a 1946 single engine plane out of an airport in Plymouth when he had engine failure. Officials report it was the second time the pilot had engine failure in the plane. The first he was able to land at a nearby airport.

According to a press release, the former U.S. Marine was “very calm and collected” per the responding officers during the incident and was uninjured.

Green Oak Township Police thanked assisted agencies including the Green Oak Township Fire Department, Livingston County Ambulance, Hamburg Township Police Department, Michigan State Police, Michigan Department of Transportation, Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and Livingston County Central Dispatch.

The plane was towed by Corrigan Towing.
