Pheasant hunt will benefit law enforcement scholarship fund

The Fourth Annual Patrick O’Rourke Memorial Scholarship European Pheasant Hunt will be held Sunday, September 24th at Muzzy Pheasant Farm in Corunna.

The event is held in memory of Patrick O’Rourke, a West Bloomfield police sergeant from Tyrone Township who died in the line of duty on September 9th, 2012. O’Rourke, after his shift was over, responded to a call about someone potentially seeking to harm themselves. He was then shot and killed by the very person he was trying to help.

The funds that are raised from the hunt will be used to present cash awards to Schoolcraft Police Academy graduates through the Patrick O’Rourke Memorial Scholarship Fund, a 501(c)3 registered non-profit.

The $300 fee includes Continental Breakfast and Lunch, Target Shooting after breakfast, Door Prizes, 50/50 Raffle and a Tower Hunt – 10 birds per hunter.

Guide dogs are provided & birds are cleaned for you.
