Receiving money in this State will be possible on 2 new payment dates. The Department of Revenue in Alaska’s Permanent Fund Dividend has updated the next paydays for eligible recipients in October.

So, even if you do not qualify for any stimulus check, you may still get money from PFD or other Basic Income Programs like the one in Boulder County, Colorado. Some citizens are still receiving money from the 2023 PFD pot. but what about the dates for the 2024 PFD?

New payment dates after the stimulus checks and the 2023 PFD checks

Finally, the Permanent Fund Dividend division will start the disbursement of the 2024 PFD check. There will be 2 main disbursements and they will start in October 2024.  But what are the requirements to receive the 2024 on October 3, 2024?

  • filed online
  • chose direct deposits to get PFD payments

As you can see, it is always better to request a direct deposit if you would like to receive your money faster. What is more, once you receive your money, save this date. January 1, 2025, will be when Alaskans can apply for this PFD money. Applications will be accepted through March 31, 2025.

2nd PFD payments in October 2024

If you do not qualify for the Permanent Fund Dividend payment on October 3, because it does not say “Eligible-Not Paid” when you check your status on September 20, check it on October 14, 2024.

The Alaska Department of Revenue claims that your PFD payment will be issued on October 24 if you:

  • Are you an eligible applicant
  • Filed by paper
  • Choose a paper check as your payment form

Some Alaskans may not receive their money on these dates for several reasons. So, it is important to keep updated for the following paydays. If you do not know how to check your payment status, make use of the official website to do it. It is available at: https://myinfo.pfd.dor.alaska.gov/home

Specific requirements to be considered an eligible applicant for the 2024 PFD in Alaska

You must have been an Alaska resident for all of 2023 and intend to stay in Alaska forever at the time you apply for the PFD.

Absences from Alaska:

  • If you were absent from Alaska for more than 180 days in 2023 for reasons other than those specifically allowed by law, you are not eligible.
  • Absences of 180 days or less are allowed if you took no action inconsistent with an intent to return to Alaska.
  • You must return to Alaska for at least 72 consecutive hours every 2 years and 30 cumulative days every 5 years, regardless of the reason for absence.

The application period runs from January 1 to March 31, 2024. Late applications will be denied, except for disabled, deceased applicants, or deployed military personnel.

First-time applicants need to provide documents like a birth certificate, passport, or naturalization certificate to prove their identity and residency. After receiving the application, the PFD division might request more information.

If absent from Alaska for over 90 days in 2023, you must report all absences on your application regardless of reason. Failure to disclose reportable absences constitutes fraud.
