The Peavy Road Bridge in Marion Township has been reopened to traffic following a lengthy closure.
That’s according to the Livingston County Road Commission, which closed the bridge last November over the Marion-Genoa Drain between Keddle Road and Mason Road.
Built in 1948, bridge was deemed to be in poor condition when it was inspected in August 2017 as its foundation was deemed to be unstable after the drain’s channel had shifted. That prompted its being scheduled for reconstruction.
The $1.7 million project replaced the prestressed concrete box beams, rebuilt the bridge approaches and provided for new concrete curb and gutter.
