On online conversation with library directors in Livingston County will take place later this month.
Organized by the League of Women Voters of Livingston County, the virtual program with Zoom is being hosting by the Howell Carnegie District Library.
Participating Livingston Library Directors include;:
Holly Ward Lamb, Howell Carnegie District Library
Cindy Mack, Brighton Library
Holly Hentz, Hamburg Township Library
Sarah Neidert, Cromaine District Library and
Hope Siasoco, Pinckney Community Public Library
Each will share their extensive knowledge about libraries in Livingston County, including funding, community involvement, and how and why different materials are selected for the library collections.
That last topic has become a political football in the last year, with conservative groups and individuals attempting to remove particular books they don’t feel are appropriate.
The March 21st event will be an opportunity for citizens to ask questions of our county’s top librarians about anything they wish to know about their Livingston County Library.
The event is the third in a series of special events created in partnership by the Huron-Clinton Metro Parks, the Howell Carnegie District Library and the Livingston Diversity Council, designed to expand and deepen our understanding of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement.
