October SSI Update Direct Payment of $943 to Be Issued in 30 Days

The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment has already been sent in September. This direct deposit was due on August 30, 2024. Therefore, it is time to apply for this monthly benefit if you did not do so last month.

The good thing about the SSI benefit is the fact that all recipients get their money on the same payday. However, the amount of each Supplemental Security Income payment can be different. It will depend on your earnings and resources whether you get the maximum amount or not.

The Administration has unveiled that the SSI direct deposit or check will be issued on October 1, 2024. This will not be the last payment in 2024, there will be 3 more paydays.

Of course, you qualify for SSI if you get approval, and remain eligible. Having additional earnings can reduce or stop Supplemental Security Income direct deposits and checks.

  • Future payment dates for Supplemental Security Income in 2024:
    • S.S.I. payday on October 1, 2024.
    • SSI payment on November 1, 2024, for all recipients.
    • Supplemental Security Income check or direct deposit for December on November 29, 2024.
    • SSI payment for January 1, 2025, on December 31 *includes the 2025 COLA increase

Social Security set maximum amounts for SSI

Supplemental Security Income recipients who do not qualify for other benefits, like retirement or SSDI, and have no money on hand or earnings, may receive the largest benefits if eligible.

For example, an individual can receive from this Federal program up to $943 in 2024. It does not matter the month, it is the maximum amount this year. Married couples who both qualify can receive up to $1,415.

Essential persons can receive up to $472. It will not be until December 31 when recipients can get the COLA boost. Apart from having a low income, and little or no resourcesSupplemental Security Income recipients must:

  • have a disability
  • or be blind
  • or be at least older than 65 or 65 years old
