Tallahassee, Florida –
When you go to update or get a new Florida driver’s license or ID card, you may observe a change.
Last week, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) revealed that while the design layout will remain unchanged, a minimum of four randomly generated numbers will be incorporated into the driver’s license or ID card number.
The state will include four additional numbers to enhance security and protect your identity on your license or ID card.
These modifications will be applied to fresh cards, whether they are renewed or replaced through online or in-person methods, or for individuals using them for the first time, beginning on July 31st.
