The Bengals’ offensive tackle Jackson Carman was ineligible for Saturday’s preseason game against the Buccaneers due to three holding penalties and one false start. In addition to having trouble getting past protection, he played the full fourth quarter.
There will be four NFL seasons for Carman, 24, this coming year. He barely made two appearances all of last season and is currently on the cusp of being activated.
When Carman had a bad game, Warren Sharp noticed and uploaded a video of it. If he wants to be considered for the team, he needs to step up his game in the coming weeks.
In the 2021 NFL Draft, Carman was selected by the Bengals in the second round, 46th overall.
Teams and players alike often hone their craft throughout the preseason. A recent game for Jackson Carman was a sobering reminder of the pressures and demands of NFL play. Though he is under a great deal of scrutiny, he is also being given a chance to learn and improve.
Carman will have more opportunities to show how much he has improved and establish his place on the Bengals’ roster as the preseason training continues.
