There just a little more than a week left on the job for Milford’s longtime police chief.

Chief Tom Lindberg plans to step down June 30th after ten years as Milford’s top cop. He will be replaced by Lieutenant Scott Tarasiewicz, who originally joined the department in 1999, serving as a patrol officer until being assigned to the Detective Bureau in 2004.

In 2010, Tarasiewicz was promoted to Sergeant and began splitting assignments between supervising investigation and Road Patrol. He became a Lieutenant in 2018. He has also been active as a volunteer with Pigs 4 Wigs and Special Olympics.
Lindberg, who announced he was retiring earlier this spring, came to Milford as chief after spending 30 years with the Novi Police Department. He has been recognized for his efforts at reorganizing the Milford department and stepping up investments in both equipment and personnel.
Tarasiewicz, meanwhile, is currently working on a master’s degree in criminal justice leadership and intelligence at Madonna University.
