Memorial Day parades set across Livingston County


Memorial Day parades are set to be held across Livingston County on Monday.

The day will kick off with the American Legion Post 141 Memorial Day Parade in Howell at 10am. The parade route will begin at the Howell Carnegie Library, proceed down Grand River, and then end at Lakeview Cemetery.

Also at 10am, Brighton will hold its Memorial Day Parade. It will start at Brighton High School and proceed East on Main Street to the Mill Pond. There will then be a ceremony at the AMP to honor veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Then at noon, Hartland’s 87th Annual Memorial Day Commemoration will take place. The county’s largest event will begin the evening before with a Sunday ceremony at Hartland Cemetery, followed by the Memorial Day Run/Walk and a Pancake Breakfast Monday morning.

Pinckney’s Memorial Day Parade is set to start at 1pm at Hamburg and Pearl Streets, and will then proceed down Pearl to Main St/M36 and travels west on Main to Marion. A ceremony in the township square will take place afterwards.
