Melon Festival Parade details released

The City of Howell has released details about road closures associated with the upcoming Melon Festival Parade.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 13th.  The route will travel westbound on Grand River Ave., between Almon St. and Byron Rd. Road closures, between National St. and Byron Rd., will be from 7:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Local melon farmers will be the highlight of the parade, with special representatives from the Howell Armory, area first responders, and an honored favorite, the Detroit Shriners, a crowd favorite who will return for this year’s 62nd parade.

Howell residents appointed to state boards

Two Livingston County residents have been appointed to state boards. On Thursday, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer appointed Kristan D. Sayers of Howell to the Board of
