In the coastal city of Galveston, Texas — A man from Galveston was taken into custody when law enforcement discovered him with large amounts of narcotics and a firearm that had been reported stolen.
According to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, on July 25, 2024, a search warrant was carried out by the Galveston County Organized Crime Task Force and Galveston Police Department Special Operations Division at an apartment located in the 5000 block of Avenue K.
Before starting the search, investigators noticed Darrington Joiner, a 39-year-old resident of Galveston, Texas, exiting the house. This led to a traffic stop where Joiner was discovered in possession of 34 grams of crack cocaine.
During the search of the house authorized by a warrant, investigators found more than 5,000 grams of codeine, 104 grams of PCP, and a handgun that was verified as stolen from Galveston, Texas.

Joiner faces charges of distributing a controlled substance weighing between 4 and 200 grams twice, as well as possessing a controlled substance weighing at least 400 grams.
The Galveston County District Attorney’s Office has approved these charges and set a bond of $450,000.
The department declared that all proof had been confiscated, and Joiner was taken to the Galveston County Jail smoothly.
