A plant in Landover, Maryland is set to close as per a recent WARN Notice issued by SpartanNash.
A total of 141 workers will be affected by the shutdown.

SpartanNash Military, a branch of SpartanNash that supplies goods to U.S. military commissaries and exchanges, highlighted that the Landover site commenced operations in 2012.
At that moment, Nash Finch was in charge of managing the establishment and later joined forces with Spartan Stores in 2013 to create Spartan Nash.
The shutdown of the establishment represents the most recent of a series of modifications to distribution centers for the grocery wholesaler and retailer over the past few years.
During the middle of 2022, SpartanNash revealed the sale of four distribution centers in Indiana, North Dakota, Florida, and Ohio to Provender Partners, an investment company, for an amount close to $30 million.
At the beginning of the year, the grocery wholesaler and retailer broadened its reach to the West Coast by starting operations at Coastal Pacific Food Distributors’ 500,000-square-foot distribution center in Stockton, California, which offers various temperature zones.
At the beginning of the previous year, SpartanNash expanded its collection of facilities by acquiring independent grocery wholesaler Great Lakes Foods and incorporating a 300,000-square-foot distribution center in Menominee, Michigan.
The website of SpartanNash showcases 20 distribution centers spread across over a dozen states, which includes the Landover Center and the Coastal Pacific Food Distributors facility.
