Man charged with domestic violence after running over girlfriend with his truck

A Livingston County man is facing domestic violence charges after an incident last month in which authorities say he ran over his girlfriend with his truck.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched on Saturday, August 27, at approximately 10 a.m. to the 2800 Block of Clivedon Road in Marion Township for a personal injury accident. A preliminary investigation indicated that a 36-year-old male was driving his Dodge Ram Truck and ran over his 30-year-old girlfriend.

The driver told deputies that he was having a verbal argument with his girlfriend and attempted to drive away. While leaving, the female was hanging onto the side of the pickup truck and fell off into the rear tires of the vehicle and was run over.

The victim was transported by Livingston County EMS to Sparrow Hospital for her injuries but is expected to recover from her injuries.

The 36-year-old male was lodged at the Livingston County Jail for reckless driving causing serious injury and domestic violence.

Deputies were assisted on the scene by Livingston County Ambulance, Howell Area Fire Department, and The Michigan State Police.

The incident remains under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Unit and the Detective Bureau.
